<description>Great summary of an interesting, informative event. Context will surely be the next important driver of social networking and user-generated content. The challenge for major media and other content-based internet properties is to transform their traditional websites into what we call &quot;Open Portal&quot; websites. Open Portals invite users to bring their media, friends, ideas and interests into the experience, and invite them to take a piece of that experience with them when they leave (widgets and other stuff). So things will get real interesting when UGC begins living alongside premium content within specific contexts. But what&#039;s most exciting is that the technology necessary to make all this happen is now easily available and affordable to even the smallest websites.
